Current Dublin Senior Hurling Champions Cuala are into this year’s finals after a strong finish saw them pass Lucan to reach their fifth championship final in six years.
Lucan Sarsfields dominated the first-half of the semi-finals at Parnell Park before Cuala’s final quarter push to victory and a final result of Cuala 1-17 to Lucan 0-13. Cuala are now set to play Ballyboden in the final next weekend.
Meanwhile, Tipperary’s Senior Hurling Championship saw Kiladangan take on Drom-Inch at Semple Stadium earlier this evening for a 15-point win in the semi-finals.
The team will take on Loughmore Castleiney in the final in two weeks following their 1-21 to 0-9 win against Drom-Inch.
In football, Knockmore beat Ballina Stephenites 0-17 to 0-13 in Mayo’s Senior Championship semi-final to send them on to tackle Breaffy in the final on September 20th.
In Roscommon, St Brigid’s emerged as six-point winners against Boyle in their Senior Championship semi-final.
The final score saw St Brigid’s 2-15 and Boyle 2-09 as goals by Ruairdhi Fallon and Ben O’Carroll sent St Brigid’s to the finals.
Also in Roscommon, Padraig Pearses beat Clann na nGal 1-11 to 1-10 to set up a final against Brigid’s.
In Monaghan, Scotstown pushed to victory after four points in five minutes in the second half of their Senior Championship semi-final against Carrickmacross.
The team are set for their eighth consecutive Monaghan final after the final result saw Scotstown 0-17 Carrickmacross 1-06.
In another Monaghan meeting, Ballybay Pearses beat Inniskeen this evening after a goal by Shane McGuinness during extra time tipped the balance in their favour and sent them forward to the final for the first time since 2018.
The final result of the Football Championships semi-final saw Ballybay Pearses 4-19(31) to Inniskeen 1-25(28).
