Mountbellew-Moylough faced a daunting challenge in the Galway Senior Football semi-final, coming up against reigning county and All-Ireland champions Corofin.
Having gone undefeated in the county since 2012, Corofin’s seven-year run of Galway titles made them the favourites, but goals from Patrick Kelly and Paul Donnellan gave them a decisive win, ending 2-13 to 0-12.
Mountbellew-Moylough will now face Maigh Cuilinn in the final, after they saw off Tuam Stars earlier today on a scoreline of 3-14 to 1-15.
In Dublin, Ballymun Kickhams bridged a seven-year gap to reclaim the Senior Football title against Ballyboden St Enda’s.
Ballyboden found themselves 11 points adrift going into the final quarter of the game, with a goal from Dean Rock in the 62nd minute putting to bed any dreams of a late comeback, finishing 1-19 to 0-8.
Sixmilebridge cemented their position in the top spot in Clare, defeating O’Callaghans Mills 0-20 to 0-12 to claim back-to-back Senior Hurling titles.
The win gave the Bridge, coached by Davy Fitzgerald, their fifth title in the past 10 years.
