New Zealand took on South Africa on Saturday in the 2nd test of the greatest rivalry tour, prior to the game there was a flyover of not one but two planes over the DHL Stadium in Cape Town.
It was a marketing stunt by one of the sponsors of the Springboks rugby team.
Now data from flight-tracking service Flightradar24 has emerged and provided a clearer indication of the remarkable clearance involved according to Rugbylad also.
Flightradar24 recorded the lowest ADS-B altitude at 50 feet at standard pressure, which it calculated to be approximately 205-210 feet above mean sea level when adjusted for the local atmospheric pressure.
With DHL Stadium standing approximately 164 feet high near sea level, Flightradar24 calculated, within a margin of error, that the aircraft passed just 41-46 feet – approximately 12.5-14 metres – above the stadium roof.
Will this stunt be done again ..?

Pure skill. Very few pilots have that skill. Every precaution was taken and every situation was studied in detail, with experienced pilots on each plane. Airspace around Cape Town was cleared during their flight. No matter carefully they flew there will always be wingers. I would like to congratulate the pilots.
I agree 100%. Our PILOTS are next level!
No need to make a fuss about it. It was great pilot skill. And if you look at the videos you will actually see that the passed over the low side of the roof to minimize the high side curvature of the roof. Absolute skill and if it scares you, then dont ever visit an airshow please.
Well done on a remarkable show of exceptional skills. Each plane had three highly skilled captains piloting them. All the commentary from everyone is added marketing. Well done again.
For God’s sake get over it now.this is not news.it has been done a few times.it was not a marketing stunt by any means.why must you and the rest stick your nose into something that has nothing to do with you.go and worry about the collapse of you countries being over run by illegal immigrants where soon you won’t be able to play rugby again so back off and worry about your own shit.remember every dog has his day.
