Sky Sports identify successor to Jeff Stelling’s Soccer Saturday throne

Sky Sports have reportedly identified their ideal successor to Jeff Stelling’s Soccer Saturday throne.

Stelling, who is part of the furniture in the Sky Sports News studio and has been making fans’ Saturdays since what feels like the dawn of time, will be moving on at the end of the season.

While immensely sad for football fans across the country, Sky Sports’ attention will have immediately turned to recruiting a successor capable of filling his sizeable shoes.

As per the Daily Mail, the man that they are going after is the BBC’s Mark Chapman.

Chapman is well-known by the football community in the UK as a result of his work on BBC Five Live, Match of the Day and other football and sports-related shows on the BBC.

Naturally, any replacement for Stelling is going to seem strange at first, but Chapman does have all the necessary credentials to host the show and eventually become a fan-favourite.

Whether Sky Sports will be successful in their attempts to poach him from the BBC is different story.
