Martin Keown and Simon Jordan came to disagreements on Talksport over Bruno Fernandes’ behaviour towards the assistant linesman during United’s loss to Liverpool yesterday.
United were trounced 7-0 by the Reds yesterday and the whole Red Devils team seemed to lose their heads in the second half, none more so than Fernandes who seemed to push the assistant linesman after a decision didn’t go his way and Jordan believes the Portuguese should have been punished.
“We have this culture creeping back into football where players seem to think they can surround referees again and you absolutely cannot have a captain of a team pushing a linesman.”
Keown responded by saying he didn’t think it was a major push from Fernandes, to which Jordan came back with: “I didn’t suggest he drop kicked him out of the stadium. The eye you want to keep on this is a blind eye. What we have to do is consequence this person.”
👀 Martin: "It wasn't a major push, Simon."
😠 Simon: "I didn't suggest that he drop kicked him out of the stadium, you're turning a blind eye!"

No punishment has been given to the Portuguese yet, but you would imagine there will be some retrospective action coming Fernandes’ way soon.
