“We’ll figure it out” – Conor McGregor could fight two BIG names in the boxing ring

Showtime boss Stephen Espinoza has welcomed the idea of Conor McGregor fighting Floyd Mayweather and Jake Paul.

McGregor, while taking into consideration recent misfortunes in the octagon, remains one of the biggest names and biggest draws in combat sports.

It’s the reason that he’s been Dana White’s golden boy for so long and why he was invited to partake in a cross-sport bout with Floyd Mayweather.

At current, McGregor is focusing on getting fit and firing once again, but there is already talk about where he could turn beyond his return to the UFC.

Quoted by The Sun, Showtime boss Stephen Espinoza welcomed the idea of blockbuster crossover fights including McGregor on his network:

“I think we’d do it [Mayweather vs McGregor] again. You’re right, it will be very difficult to recreate that buzz, particularly when both of them were still more active.”

Floyd Mayweather (left) and Conor McGregor (right) COULD run it back, according to Stephen Espinoza

“It would be challenging to top that but I still think it would be bigger than almost any other fight we could do outside of it.”

“Certainly the UFC brought plenty of assets to the table in the Mayweather-McGregor promotion. We’ve got a model and we’d be happy to work with them again, if that’s something they want to do.”

“There are also some Bellator fighters that Jake has talked about and going back and forth with. So, I think whoever it is, we’ll figure it out.”

Hardcore, old-school, combat sports fanatics will not be pleased pleased with these ideas being floated by Espinoza, no doubt.

However, there’s no doubting how many eyes they bring to the sport. Seeing McGregor in a double-tussle with Mayweather and Paul would be quite something.
