An ugly scene took place in Switzerland where a referee was punched in a junior football match.
After a match between FC Villmergen C-Junior and SC Schoftland on Saturday, the player’s father confronted the referee and appeared to have punched him.

FC Villmergen C-Junior’s had lost the match 4-2 to SC Schoftland.
The angry father asked the referee: “‘Do you know what football means?”
Footage emerged on social media where a man wearing a black dress was seen throwing punches towards the official.

It appears that the official took a strong blow. He was seen grabbing the side of their face, and people around took the player’s father away from the spot.
Apparently, the father had become angered because the opposing players repeatedly fouled his son, but the referee didn’t take sufficient action.
The club are reportedly considering banning the father from attending his son’s matches in the future.
“FC Villmergen condemns any form of violence on and off the pitch,” a statement read.
“The incident following the match on May 31, 2025, deeply contradicts our core values.
“We are working closely with the relevant authorities to fully clarify the situation.”
The incident has also been reported to the Swiss Football Federation. It is indeed a shocking incident, and the player’s father should be banned from attending his son’s matches.
