Speaking to the JAXXON Podcast Briggs said:

“He was an amazing fighter, one of the greatest of all-times. To be in the ring with him was crazy, his presence, his jab, everything was like ‘damn’.”

“He was one of the greats, I was trying to survive and not get killed by George Foreman, he was beating everybody.

“He hit me so hard I couldn’t believe, I couldn’t sleep for two weeks. He gave me vertigo, he was hitting hard.”

The pair met in 1997 with Briggs scoring a victory by majority decision.

This would be the last time that Foreman would enter the ring before hanging up the gloves for good.

    1. I quit watching boxing for many years because of that fight. I didn’t have Briggs winning a round. Even HE look stunned when they raised his hand! He looked like he was going to cry after his “defeat”. That was their way of telling Old George to retire. Which he sadly did.

  1. The entire boxing world knew that Briggs didn’t win that fight. Boxings powers that be had had enough of the old guy and made him go away, even though George could still bang with the best of them despite his increased years.
