🚨 Shannon Briggs gives his assessment on Wladimir Klitschko’s potential return

Wladimir Klitschko has recently teased a return to the ring.

The Ukrainian was thought to be eyeing up a rematch with Tyson Fury had he defeated Oleksandr Usyk, but he fell short losing via a unanimous decision from the judges at ringside.

While it remains very unlikely that Klitschko would return to face his countryman, Usyk, there are other options for him and he was reportedly also in talks to face Daniel Dubois.

Shannon Briggs who famously harassed Klitschko for many years aiming to secure a fight with the then champion has given his assessment on his former rival’s potential return.

“There’s no such thing as impossible,” Briggs told Sky Sports.

“As we know mankind has done some amazing things.”

“He’s such a tough man, to become heavyweight champion and be fighting for your country at war with so many lives being lost. This is a true champion, a true strong man. It’s great for boxing,” Briggs said.

Briggs himself is also eyeing up a return to the ring despite his advancing age.

He continued: “I’d like to fight him, no secret about that. Can’t take nothing away from him as a fighter, as a human being. What a guy.”

“You can take an old car and you can restore it. You can put in new wheels, new spark plugs, new battery and that car runs like a brand new car. It’s true. That what I feel for myself.

“Anything is possible. You can turn back time.

“Age is no longer a factor.”

A return for Klitschko could see him given a unique opportunity to become the oldest-ever heavyweight champion at the age of 48.

Heavyweight legend George Foreman currently holds the record in the division having become a world title holder at the age of 45 in 1994.
