The 29 year old footballer from Galway Shane Walsh put in a request last week to leave his club in Galway and join Dublin club Kilmacud Crokes this has caused a major backlash and his club in Galway said they are going to fight this all the way. Some people on against him leaving his local club, but the majority of GAA fans are firmly on the Galway man’s side.
Walsh was top class in the All-Ireland final last Sunday week and should have been named man of the match. If he does make the move to the Dublin club, they are getting one hell of a player.

Whereas villages have gone to war over in who has rights to the two houses either side of the burn that splits them and their neighbours, the cities are just a free-for-all. Pick your lot and play.

People saying Shane Walsh should transfer to UL so he can keep playing for his club… ridiculous, if the lad wants to not spend every evening on the motorway and live in Dublin he should be allowed to, GAA privilege is off the charts

Like I said the club are entitled to be miffed purely in terms of the damage this does to their promotion prospects. That said Shane Walsh is 29 years old, he’d have transferred out of there ages ago if the rationale for doing so was purely mercenary. AFAIK he’s a student /1

I don’t get it. People sitting on their arses at home telling someone they don’t know what to do with their life. Saddos.

Interesting times ahead with the GAA and how they handle this..
