Brilliant news for Liverpool as Real Madrid key man is ruled out of Champions League clash

Real Madrid skipper Sergio Ramos will miss both legs of his side’s Champions League tie against Liverpool through injury, report the BBC.

With Ramos’ contract expiring at the end of the season, this may well be the Spaniard’s final opportunity to compete in Europe’s premier competition with Los Blancos.

From a neutral’s perspective, we were all looking forward to seeing him renew his rivalry with Mohamed Salah, who he injured in the 2018 Champions League final.

However, it does not look as though we will be seeing Ramos in action in either leg of the Champions League quarter-final clash between the two giants of the game.

Ramos inflicted a shoulder injury upon Salah in the 2018 UCL final.

As reported by the BBC, Ramos has suffered a calf injury while on international duty with Spain. As a result, he has been ruled out of action for a number of weeks.

That is a huge boost for Liverpool in their efforts to reach the next round of the competition.
