Sitora Turdibekoval left the boxing ring in tears after losing her round-of-16 Olympic bout to Lin Yu-Ting of Taiwan.
Two-time world champion Lin Yu-Ting went the full three rounds to beat Sitora Turdibekova, 22, and is now only one win away from a guaranteed Olympic medal.
Lin has been at the centre of a gender eligibility row along with Algeria’s Imane Khelif after both women failed gender eligibility tests at the Women’s World Championship in India last year.
