The sad news was heard on Saturday morning that 19 year old Brendan Óg Duffy, captain of the Monaghan U20’s had sadly passed away in a car accident reminding everyone just how fragile life really is. Brendan Óg Duffy only just having captaining the U20 side into the Ulster football final.
Then on Saturday evening in the Senior Ulster football Championship Monaghan defeated Armagh in a cracking game and Monaghan showed great steal to hold out for the win and you just wonder was Brendan Óg Duffy looking down on them as they managed to hold out. After the game the Monaghan manager Seamus McEnaney found it hard to find words to explain the tough week the whole Monaghan squad had.
