Sam Warburton Picks the Best XV his Played against in his Career

Posted by

The former Lions & Welsh captain has picked the best fifteen players that he has played against throughout his career. Sam Warburton played against some of the best that have ever played the game and he himself was one of the best sevens that ever played in Rugby Union.

He was a guy that left it all out there on the pitch be it for club or country. Interestingly enough he has left Dan Carter and Richie McCaw out of his first fifteen. He has picked them on the bench however, but incredible to leave the two that would walk on to most fifteen teams in the World and were absolute legends for the All Blacks both winning two Rugby World Cups.

Another interesting choice was Paul O’Connell as captain, ahead of great captains such as Brian O’Driscoll and Kieran Read. The Welsh man obviously has hug admiration for the Young Munster man. Warburton did tour with Paul O’Connell in the Lions tour to Australia in 2013 and Warburton was captain himself for that tour over the Limerick man. On a sidetone it’s worth checking out Sam Warburton’s Instagram, the guy is still ‘ripped’ after retiring from rugby union in 2017
