Sam Allardyce Calls Again for football to lockdown

Sam Allardyce was speaking to The Daily Mail and again calls for football to shut down to deal with the rise in Covid cases nationwide and indeed across Europe. The Premier league have step up to this by having players tested twice a week now to try and combat this and keep it safe for players and management alike

“We’re out to entertain and if we’re to continue to do that then we’re fearful of someone catching a virus they’re not going to recover from?

“I don’t know how long we can carry on. The big help is the vaccinations happening as quickly as possible but we may need a lockdown if cases outside of football continue to rise.

40 players tested positive for coronavirus in the latest round of results, out of a total of 2,295 tests, a record for the competition. Aston Villa effectively had to send out their U23 squad to take on Liverpool on Friday night in the FA Cup tie due to an outbreak in the Villa camp. Does Sam Allardyce have a point?
