Ryan Tubridy has finally decided to step down as host of The Late Late Show, the Dubliner was in the role ten plus years and people had mixed views on the presenter. Everyone is saying the same thing online now and that’s, that Tommy Tiernan will be the new presenter of the Friday night show.

That show is will past it’s sell by date now and whoever takes on that gig, good luck! It’s pure trash and probably needs a reboot unfortunately there’s a bunch of dinosaurs in RTE.

The best Irish presenter is over in the UK and that’s Graham Norton, no chance he’d come back and take the job, not in a million years..

  2. Absolute rubbish show. No doubt it won’t be advertised. Internal appointment!!!. There is lots of talent out there , unfortunately nepotism is alive and well in RTE.
    Please if you are continuing with a show at least have someone we can watch and listen to.

    There are lovely young people around the Country trying to pursue careers in media and journalism, give them a chance.
    I have to say RTE is not fit for purpose.
    Same ole same ole.
    Why are we paying a license ?.

      Have been in the audience a couple of times and it’s magical.
      He entertained the country with his witty personality through covid and kept the show on the road.
      We wish him the very best and he’ll come up trumps in whatever road he takes.

  15. The show should have been buried with the man who owned the LATE LATE SHOW. How in the name of god did that guy (Turbidity) get the gig when he took it over I never watched it again. RIP GABO and the LATE LATE SHOW you were an institution.

    1. Yea Ryan Tubridy will b hugely missed. Brilliant presenter. I couldnt agree more with u . Kept the nation uplifted during the lockdown . Hugely educated and informed on all matters and highly entertaining at the same time.

  18. Dee and the gang says Late Late great for the advertising revenue. And with the diversity stuff they’ll probably land a woman in there. Plus Dee wants a compulsory TV licence in every household so they gots to find a woman who won’t ask the real questions people want to hear from our politicians.

  20. Tbh, if I did watch the Late Late Show it was only until The Graham Norton Show began. It had become like a televised RTE Guide with promos for upcoming shows by the ‘stars’😱 of the particular RTE show. Or else the bottom rung of guests who were not invited to G Norton show or the occasional overlap as GNS is recorded on Thursdays – and invariably Graham’s interview was superior. However, Ryan has matured and is now more self- confident- in the past he seemed to want to get the interview, on sometimes harrowing subjects , over asap, tap his finished cue cards and to move onto the next topic. The distraught guest literally left in mid sentence and just had to switch off – Ryan seemed to have no empathy. Car crash tv! He has of late improved on that front and his interviews with Vicky Phelan and the cervical cancer victims were proof of that. He is now ready for something more serious and he can put that new found empathy and self belief to very good use. He is a talented and shrew man – his decision to leave the LLS now is a very wise move as he still has time to rebrand.

  21. Not Tiernan please just to look at him is a complete turn off not alone his his talent Tiernan just hasnt got it. Rte must be finding it hard to choose when Tiernan has a saturday night show. Brendan O’Connor would be my choice.

  22. I think in some ways Tommy Tiernan would be excellent – nice combo of comedy and empathy. However, some of the faff and nonsense required by the Producers would drive him over the edge…he would lose it and leave . RTE need to find a programme that actually competes with the Graham Norton Show, Netflix, Disney+ et al and not produce one that forces people to give up in despair. They CAN do it – RTE ‘s Smother was compelling – they need to get in some new, innovative producers who are up to speed on contemporary media successes.

  26. I think the whole show needs to be modernised. Mostly older people watch it , if they want younger people to watch they need a young presenter. What about a unknown young female
