Ruben Amorim couldn’t help biting back at a comment from Manchester United legend, Wayne Rooney.
The Red Devils exited the FA Cup yesterday after being knocked out on penalties after a 1-1 draw at home to Fulham.
Since Amorim’s come into the club, the results haven’t exactly improved and they sit in 14th place in the Premier League.
Despite this the Manchester United boss believes the goal for the club is to be crowned Premier League champions once again.

Following the match, Rooney had suggested that Amorim’s high hopes for the future at United were ‘naive’ given their embarrassing position in the league.
After the game he was told by reporters exactly what the former England star said and Amorim made it clear that this was his long-term plan, while firing a dig at the pundit about his own career choices.
He said: “Our goal is to win the Premier League. Maybe it is not with me. But our goal, as a club, the board, is to win the Premier League like we did in the past with all the great glories and legends of this club and we will want to do better and we are in a difficult moment.
“That is the goal. To be naive would be to think that we are going to do it this season or are going to be the best contender for next season.
He then appeared to aim a jibe at Rooney and continued: “I know that in this moment, everybody knows everything. I know that it’s really easy, I was a pundit when I finished my career, so I know it’s really easy.”
"I'm not naive, that's why I'm coaching Manchester United at 40 years old" 👀

Rooney’s move into punditry follows a poor spell in charge of Plymouth Argyle.
The 39-year-old former England captain oversaw just four league wins and suffered 13 defeats in 23 Championship games and left the club by mutual consent in December.
