Ross Barkley suffers season set back as he is left out of Nice’s UConL squad

Ross Barkley has been left out of Nice’s UEFA Conference League squad, a big blow to his impressive season so far.

Barkley joined Nice from Chelsea in September last year after four years and 100 appearances for the Blues and has been very good for the French outfit since arriving, scoring three goals in 15 games.

However, Nice boss Didier Digard has decided not to include the 29-year old in the club’s UEFA Conference League knockouts squad, despite there being three spots up for grabs.

Reports in France believed that he was expected to make the squad but that hasn’t happened.

It is an unfortunate turn of events for Barkley, who will have wanted to help his club challenge for the Conference League title, but he will have to make do with no place in the 25-man outfit.

January signings Terem Moffi and Youssouf Ndayishimiye have been included by Digard, who also hands a place to youngster Badredine Bouanani.
