The former Munster and Irish out-half Ronan O’Gara won his first European Cup as manager today. The Cork man led La Rochelle for their first ever Champions Cup and the celebrations at full-time where wild.

What a cracking final it was between the giants of Irish rugby and now the giants of French rugby. To think that four years ago La Rochelle were in second division of French rugby. It’s been an incredible rise to the top and an incredible achievement from their coach and Cork native Ronan O’Gara.
Will the former Munster out-half ever come back and manage his native province? I’ve no doubt he will, when the Munster team have the players and squad capable of winning a European Cup.
