Former Real Madrid maestro, Mesut Ozil, has come to Cristiano Ronaldo’s aid after the Portuguese captain received a lot of criticism over his negative actions this past month.

He had already received plenty of criticism after his destructive interview with Piers Morgan, just one week before the World Cup kicked off. Even the national team manager, Fernando Santos, has had a pop at him.
But now one of Ronaldo’s former teammates, Ozil, has leapt to defend the free agent on Twitter.
I really don’t get where this constant negativity from the press about Cristiano comes from … The Media is just trying to get clicks, and pundits who don’t have a career anymore just want to get attention with his big name and try to make him look bad…

Everyone should show more respect to one of the greatest athletes in sports history…
