Cristiano Ronaldo could be ruled out of today’s Manchester Derby, having not been spotted with the squad at the Lowry Hotel.

Man United will be hoping to do rivals Liverpool an inadvertent favour by taking points off of neighbours Man City this afternoon and keeping their hopes of Champions League qualification alive.

To do so, they’ll have to cause an upset of seismic proportions, with Man City heading into the contest as firm favourites to take all three points and continue their push towards Premier League glory.

Pep Guardiola’s men will be buoyed even further by information provided by The Sun which suggests that the Red Devils could be without Cristiano Ronaldo for the game this afternoon.

The report notes that CR7 was not with the Man United players who stayed at the Lowry Hotel ahead of the game, which is a pretty considerable suggestion that he will not be involved in the game.

Considering Ronaldo almost signed for City in the summer, he will no doubt have loved the opportunity to prove that he made the right decision and deal their title hopes a blow. He might not get that chance…
