Cristiano Ronaldo’s partner Georgina Rodriguez has been slammed by members of her family who feel as though she has turned her back on them since coupling up with the Manchester United forward.
Rodriguez has shot to fame since she and CR7 became romantically involved. As the old saying goes, behind every great man there is a great woman – in this instance, she is the great woman, or is she?
Ahead of the release of a Netflix series shining a spotlight on her life, several estranged members of Rodriguez’s family have been less than complimentary while discussing her and her behaviour in recent years.
Below, as is published by The Sun, you can read some of the character references which have been given. They’re not particularly compatible with the ideal of the Ronaldo family’s idealistic home life.
Georgina’s uncle, who helped raise her after her dad was jailed for drug-smuggling, said: “She may feel ashamed of us and consider she’s better than us because we don’t live with her luxury. I’ve never asked her for anything. She has only rung once or twice since I found out she was dating Ronaldo.”
Her half-sister, Patricia Rodriguez, raised doubts over Georgina’s generosity: “When it was my son’s birthday, I asked if she could ask Cristiano to sign a shirt for my boy and she said ‘No’ — she wasn’t going to bother him as he was on holiday.”
Her uncle added: “No one told us Jorge [her father] had died. I don’t know why Georgina didn’t tell us. I’ve tried to contact her. I’ve written on Cristiano’s Facebook, ‘You’ve got the most evil woman at your side’ and ‘if you want to know, contact me, I will tell you’.”
Ultimately, there are two sides to every story and Rodriguez’s family are clearly very bitter, so perhaps we ought to take their criticisms of Ronaldo’s lover with a pinch of salt.
Still, the idea of her Netflix documentary was to provide the world with further insight into HER and HER life. We have certainly been given a closer look ahead of its release, just not in the way she would have hoped…
