Brazil and Barcelona football legend Ronaldinho has missed his own mothers funeral after a spokesman for the Jardim da Paz Cemetery told local media the 40-year-old former footballer was too ‘upset’ to accompany them.
The funeral of Ronaldinho’s mother took place in his families native city of Porto Alegre without the Brazilian soccer legend present.
According to the Daily Mail the former Barcelona and Brazil star was said to be too grief-stricken to attend the wake and Sunday’s burial of Miguelina Eloi Assis dos Santos.
The 40-year-olds older brother Roberto and sister Deisi were present to pay their last respects to their 71-year-old mum, who died on Saturday following complications after a long battle with coronavirus.
Ronaldinho revealed in December his mother was fighting for her life after getting Covid-19 and the star has yet to comment on Miguelina’s death.
The Brazil legend like other members of his family changed his social media profile picture to black as a mark of respect to his late mother.
