Romelu Lukaku has revealed he is unhappy at Chelsea and wants to return to Inter Milan, soon.
Lukaku re-signed for Chelsea in a £97m deal in the summer transfer window. It was pitched as a world-class striker returning to the club that holds his heart.
Chelsea fans must be wondering exactly why Lukaku bothered playing along with the homecoming narrative and kissed the badge after scoring his first few goals.
In a series of comments posted by BenchWarmers columnist Fabrizio Romano, Romelu Lukaku has revealed that he is NOT happy with life as a Chelsea player. WOW!
“Physically I am fine. But I’m NOT happy with the situation at Chelsea. Tuchel has chosen to play with another system – I won’t give up, I’ll be professional. I am not happy with the situation but I am professional – and I can’t give up now.”
“I think everything that happened last summer was not supposed to happen like this… how I left Inter, the way I left the club, how I communicated with Inter fans – this bothers me because it was not the right time.”

It’s intriguing that Lukaku claims to be ‘professional’ all while revealing that he wants to play for another club a matter of months after Chelsea spent £97m on him.
Chelsea are also in the midst of a bad period at current, having endured injuries, COVID-positives and poor results throughout December. Was now really the right time, Romelu?
