Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku has appeared on camera to apologise to the fans for the upset he caused in a recent interview with Sky Italia.
Lukaku appeared on Italian television to state his desire to return to Inter Milan, suggest that Chelsea was his fourth choice and question the methods of manager Thomas Tuchel.
Needless to say, it caused fury within the Chelsea fanbase and resulted in his omission from the matchday squad as the Blues faced title rivals Liverpool at Stamford Bridge on Sunday.
Tuchel revealed in his press conference on Tuesday that he had spoken with Lukaku and that the matter was now water under the bridge. Lukaku is in training ahead of Chelsea’s clash with Tottenham on Wednesday night.

With the Belgian expected to be involved in the game, it was only right that he spoke to the supporters directly before appearing out on the pitch at the Bridge, where he will likely get a somewhat mixed reception tomorrow.
Lukaku gave a brief message to the fans via a video shared across their social media platforms and did a lengthier sit-down with Chelsea TV which was uploaded to the club’s YouTube channel.
