Roman Abramovich is reportedly already in talks over buying a new football club, even before the sale of Chelsea has gone through.
Abramovich purchased Chelsea back in 2003 and has gone on to transform them into a footballing superpower. Whatever you think of him as an individual or his alleged links to Vladimir Putin, there is no discrediting the extraordinary work he has done at Stamford Bridge.
However, in case you’ve been living under a rock, Abramovich is now being forced into selling Chelsea, having had sanctions put upon him by the UK government as a consequence of his native Russia invading Ukraine. Sale talks are ongoing.
Abramovich is not wasting any time in his attempts to embark on a new journey in the game, however. According to reports in Turkey, he’s already opened talks to buy Goztepe.
Abramovich has opened talks to buy Turkish Super Lig club Goztepe despite still being in the process of selling Chelsea.

Goztepe are currently in the relegation zone at the bottom of the Turkish Super Lig. You can imagine that their supporters will be tightly crossing their fingers that the cash-rich Abramovich completes the proposed takeover and helps them spend their way up to the very top of Turkey.
