Manchester City midfielder Rodri doubled the champions’ advantage over Everton this afternoon with an absolute THUNDERBOLT.
Rodri is an accomplished and rather modest midfield player. While we oftentimes find ourselves praising him, it’s not necessarily for his contributions in the final third of the field.
That said, the Spaniard does have a worldie in his locker, as he reminded us this afternoon as Premier League champions Manchester City hosted Everton at the Etihad.
Everton scrambled the ball out of the penalty area but straight into the path of Rodri, who didn’t wait for an invitation to strike towards goal.

Rodri smacked the ball with all of his might and it flew beyond the helpless Jordan Pickford and into the top corner. An absolute wondergoal from the midfielder.

It also all but signs and seals the victory for Man City, who are keeping pace with Chelsea and Liverpool at the top of the Premier League table.
