Ex-Brazil attacker Robinho set for NINE-YEAR jail sentence after rape appeal was rejected

Former Brazil international Robinho has been sentenced to nine years in prison for rape.

Robinho was, for a period, one of the most entertaining footballers on the planet. His performances across spells with Real Madrid, Manchester City and AC Milan earned him much acclaim.

Unfortunately, the Brazilian has gone on to irreparably taint his legacy by taking part in the gang rape of a 22-year-old Albanian woman in a Milan nightclub back in January 2013.

Robinho was convicted and given a nine-year sentence, but the appeal process has been lengthy, with the former footballer holding onto hope that he will once again be a free man.

Any faint hope he had of having his conviction overturned has now gone, however, as reports today reveal that his latest appeal has been rejected and he will begin serving his nine-year sentence.

With Robinho’s guilt having been determined and re-determined, we can only absolutely condemn the utterly despicable actions of a person who was once admired around the world.

Nine years seems generous for committing such a disgusting act. At least the victim can now have a certain degree of closure knowing that there is no chance of Robinho walking free…
