Robbie Savage doesn’t think Arsenal will challenge for the title next season

Robbie Savage has snubbed Arsenal by naming three other sides he think will challenge Manchester City for the Premier League title next season.

Mikel Arteta’s men handed City the title on Saturday evening after losing 1-0 at Nottingham Forest, which extended their miserable run of form that has seen them go from eight points clear (with a game more played) to seven points behind in six weeks.

Many people feel that this was Arsenal’s best chance of a title in a long time and it might not be the same next season but not many would have them finishing outside the top four like Savage seemingly does.

Speaking on BBC Radio 5 Live, he said “Manchester United, Chelsea and Liverpool are the three teams that can challenge Man City next season.”

He did also say “but they will need to come up with 95 points to run them close”, which tells just how difficult City’s dominance has made things for other clubs.

The fact Savage thinks Chelsea, who are set to finish outside the top half for the first time in over 25 years, are more of a threat than Arsenal is quite surprising due to the simple fact that absolutely no one can surely predict what happens next at Stamford Bridge.
