Former Machester United defender, Rio Ferdinand believes that Casemiro ‘wipes away’ Arsenal’s Thomas Partey.
The Gunners have been sensational this year, blowing away everybody’s expectations and are now sitting comfortably at the top of the table. A major reason for their success is their midfield anchor Partey, who lies at the heart of everything they do.
The Ghanaian has had serious fitness issues over the years but luckily he has managed to mainly avoid injury so far. In fact, the one game that he missed, Arsenal lost evidently against rivals Manchester United last year.
Speaking ahead of the second meeting between the two sides this weekend, Ferdinand claimed that Casemiro is far better than his opposite number.
‘I think the importance to their teams…you could argue both sides quite equally. But then, when you through the stats in Casemiro wipes him away,’ he said on the Vibe with Five Podcast.
‘No, no no. I don’t think Partey is good enough defensively to do what Casemiro is doing,’ he said.
‘I don’t think he has the impact defensively for Man United, on the ball he’s doing more.’
The Manchester United legend did go on to give Partey his roses.
‘On the ball, he’s doing more. He’s dictating play for Arsenal,’ he said.
‘He’s actually playing passes I didn’t know he had. His passing has been unbelievable.’
In your opinion, who has been the better player?
