🚨 Ricky Hatton explains exactly why Conor McGregor ‘needs to’ fight Michael Chandler

Ricky Hatton has made comparisons between the end of his career and Conor McGregor’s potential fight against Michael Chandler.

Hatton retired from boxing in 2012, his defeat to Vyacheslav Senchenko coming more than three years after his previous fight against Manny Pacquiao where he suffered a brutal knockout.

The Hitman admitted he had to find out if he had it anymore before finally hanging up the gloves for good and thinks the Irishman is in a similar position.

Speaking to Instant Casino, Hatton said:

“I had to find out if I still had it and I found out that I did not have it anymore.”

“And then I went into retirement happy then, having found that out, and I hope Conor McGregor gets the same thing, I hope he wins [vs Chandler] and I hope we see him in plenty more fights because he’s Mr. Entertainment isn’t he?”

“But if he hasn’t still got it, Conor McGregor will know. Conor will know if he’s still got it or not and he’ll know if he needs to knock it on the head and to keep doing the other things he does.

“I needed to find out if I still had it against [Vyacheslav] Senchenko and I didn’t. And I think Conor’s probably reached the same position in his career that I found myself in ten years back.”

  1. Ricky, ….., Conor’s last loss was more of an accident breaking his leg prematurely during the fight…
Your last two losses before retiring were results of fair plays and where you were not handicapped by an injury not caused by an opponent…Conor did not suffer a humiliating loss like you had with Pacquiao.
