Could Roy Keane return to Manchester United as interim manager after Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s sacking? Micah Richards doesn’t think it’s a good idea.
Keane spent the opening few months of the Premier League season slating Man United’s performances. The Irishman, as you’d expect, didn’t pull his punches in his assessment of some of Solskjaer’s players.
Solskjaer himself bit back at Keane in the press, though he was, unfortunately, unable to have the last laugh, having been given his marching orders following United’s 4-1 defeat at Vicarage Road.
With Man United having revealed they will be looking to appoint an interim to steer the ship until the season’s end, the rumour mill has begun to turn as fans attempt to decipher who that could be.

With Keane having managerial credentials and knowledge of the club, the idea of him taking up the hot-seat for the coming months – with Gary Neville in there as his assistant – was proposed on Sky Sports’ Super Sunday show.
Micah Richards, asked if Man United need a Keane-esque character right now, replied with “probably not.” It prompted laughter, with Richards justifying that view by drawing on his colleague’s continual criticism of the players.
Robbie 🗣 “Roy Keane will sort it out”
Jamie 🗣 “Roy Keane and @GNev2 as assistant.”
Micah 🗣 “I’m not saying he couldn’t do it, but the relationship with the players, he’s slagged off half the dressing room.” 🤣

Although we’d absolutely love to see it, you can imagine it’d make for a rather awkward dressing room atmosphere if Keane were to be appointed as Man United interim manager…
