Disaster struck for Munster this weekend, while the southern province managed to beat the Scarletts over in Wales they also lost their star signing South African second row RG Snyman. The big lock injured his ruptured his cruciate ligament again.
This guy and Munster have no luck really, he’s the type for player that Munster really want to add a bit of beef and hardness to their pack, as Munster look to add a bit of silverware to their trophy cabinet. The last time Munster won something was the Pro12 back in 2009 at Thomond Park against Leinster.
Munster confirm that RG Snyman has re-ruptured his ACL.
He has been limited to just 54 minutes on the pitch for the province since joining in 2019 due to two ACL ruptures.
Sport can be very cruel.

Very disappointing news for RG Snyman as it's confirmed he has sustained a re-rupture of his cruciate ligament.
JvG: 'While this is a setback, we know RG is young & resilient given everything he has gone through in the last year so there's a strong sense of perspective.'#SUAF

This update on RG Snyman’s Instagram says a lot about the mindset of the guy.

This is also a major blow to South Africa as I’m sure the Springboks coach would have been hoping to have the big lock in their squad for upcoming November internationals We wish Snyman all the best in his recovery, no doubt he will comeback from this set back again and will still be a good influence on the young Munster players within the squad.
