According to the BBC, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has revealed that the match delegate for Manchester United’s 2-1 loss to Sheffield United has said the hosts were on the wrong end of two key decisions.

United were beaten 2-1 by the Blades who had only collected five points so far in the season before their encounter with the Red Devils.

The shock defeat sent reverberations through the league as victory would have seen Ole Gunnar Solskjaers men go top of the Premier League.

The Norwegian believes the outcome could have been much different had Kean Bryan’s opening goal been disallowed and Anthony Martial’s equaliser hadn’t been ruled out.

The Blades were given no hope of winning the game as they lay rock bottom of the Premier League before the clash with United.

Chris Wilder’s side ripped up the script in the 23rd minute though when Kevin Bryan gave the visitors a very unexpected lead despite Billy Sharpe pushing David de Gea in the build up.

Solskjaer said: “I’ve got the delegates’ report through from the ref and the two decisions were wrong.

“They’ve admitted that their goal should have been disallowed and ours should have stood and that is a big, big momentum changer for us.

“You’re more likely when you go 1-0 up than 1-0 down that you can go on and maybe win that game.”

United went on to play Arsenal in their next Premier League clash which ended in a 0-0 stalemate and United dropping a further two points, hindering their push for league success.
