The English and Chelsea start Reece James has deleted his Instagram account today after constant online abuse. It’s sad that it’s come to this and that Instagram and other social platforms haven’t up their game.
Reece James deleted his Instagram account today, after receiving abusive/hateful messages.
He’s one of the most socially responsible youngsters in football, and spends more time than most helping others. He deserves praise, rather than hate.

Reece James has deleted his Instagram. Racism is never justifiable. Reece has done so much for communities outside of football & been nothing but a role model on and off the pitch. No one deserves to be subject to racist abuse, let alone Reece.

Reece James in January: “We all have a part to play in making this world a better & more equal place! Racism is completely unacceptable! Human is our only race!”
Whilst tagging all social media platforms, today’s he’s deleted his Instagram account.
Is this a good move and leading from the front from Reece James and should other footballers follow suit? Shane Duffy comes to mind when you see this today also ‘Shane Duffy & his Mother Make New Appeal to Instagram to Stop the Online Abuse’ Chelsea are currently fourth in the table and are on course to qualify for the Champions League for next season and are dark horses to win this year competition. This type of abuse has to stop and the social media companies are the only ones that can do it, because you will always have these individuals and social media is giving them a platform that they didn’t have before.
