Lewis Hamilton’s 2023 title prospects handed MAJOR boost by Red Bull chief

Red Bull chief Christian Horner has delivered some good news to Mercedes fans ahead of the 2023 F1 campaign.

Red Bull have been far and away the best team on the grid in 2022, with Max Verstappen winning the Drivers’ championship and his team topping the Constructors’ standings.

However, in recent times it has emerged that Red Bull have not been running a particularly tight ship on the finance side of things, which has resulted in the FIA taking stern action.

Red Bull have been struck with a fine for exceeding the in-force cost cap and have also been informed that they will have less wind tunnel testing time ahead of the 2023 season.

Red Bull chief Christian Horner (pictured) has already conceded their car will be slower in 2023

Quoted by Autosport, Horner detailed the kind of devastating consequences that Red Bull’s reduced wind tunnel testing time could have for their 2023 title prospects.

“The more draconian part is the sporting penalty which is a 10% reduction in our ability to use our wind tunnel and aerodynamic tools. That represents between 0.25 seconds and 0.5 seconds of lap time”

That will of course be welcomed by Mercedes and their following. They’ve endured a difficult campaign, but if they get it right in the off-season, they’ll have a cracking chance at winning in 2023.
