Carl Froch claims to have inside knowledge on why Tyson Fury retired.

Fury, announced he was hanging up the gloves for good after suffering back-to-back defeats to Oleksandr Usyk.

There had been much Speculation surrounding a potential fight between Fury and Anthony Joshua in 2025, but the Morecambe fighter took to social media to deliver bad news to UK boxing fans.

In a video the former WBC champion said: “I’d like to announce my retirement from boxing, it’s been a blast. I’ve loved every single minute of it.

“I’m going to end with this, Dick Turpin wore a mask. God bless everybody, see you on the other side.”

Former super middleweight world champion, Carl Froch gave his assessment on ‘The Gypsy King’s retirement.

Speaking to Action Network he said: “He [Fury] has retired because deep down, he knows he is probably past his best and lost two fights (to Oleksandr Usyk), and I know personally he is p*****. I spoke to somebody close to his team, and he’s really frustrated and p***** off that he lost the rematch, but he did lose and lost fair and square.”

Froch continued: “It was a close fight, but it wasn’t very entertaining, not like the first one where there were moments of excitement, and not a lot happened. I think Usyk did enough to win. He shouldn’t have any complaints apart from the frustration that he didn’t go for it.”

Many believe Fury may return once again including former rival Oleksandr Usyk who said in an interview recently:

“I don’t think about it but I think it is not true.

“Once Tyson has relaxed, and rested, maybe Tyson will be back.

“Boxing if you do this for a long time: 10, 15, 20, 25 years then boxing is like a drug
