Real Madrid losing millions and Taylor Swift may not perform again at Santiago Bernabeu

Santiago Bernabeu has been banned from hosting concerts and Real Madrid are losing millions.

Taylor Swift performed her Eras Tour at this iconic venue following its opening 12 months ago.

The stadium underwent an eye-catching £1.5billion renovation last year to make it a world-class arena for both football and other events.

Apart from football, Florentino Perez wanted to attract big names in music. However, that plan has completely backfired.

The reason is that local people around the area have filed a legal complaint over noise levels and gigs have been cancelled.

The court case remains ongoing, and Real Madrid’s rivals, like Atletico Madrid, are benefiting from it. Real Madrid want to make the stadium sound-proof, but local are not convinced.

Ed Sheeran, Imagine Dragons and AC/DC among those playing at the home of Atleti this summer.

Neighbours registered noise levels to be above 90 decibels during the shows last year.

Local Enrique Martínez de Azagra said: “It is impossible to suffer this kind of noise and it affects our health, it affects migraines, insomnia and heart attacks and it is a criminal offence in our laws.

“Football is a sport that lasts two hours, more or less. The noise is normal. Only when there is a goal, the passion surges.”

Thus, if the issue is not solved. Taylor Swift may not perform again at Madrid’s iconic stadium.
