In 2023 the former Scotland international was in court after he was clocked as travelling at excessive speed while.driving through villages of Tarbet and Arrochar in Argyll and Bute.

in Tarbet he was recorded as driving at 48mph and 55mph in nearby Arrochar with both having a 30mph speed limit.

Speaking on talkSPORT he said: I got done going into Arrochar and the same guy did me going out of Arrochar.

“I don’t mind getting done if I was out of order but he done me twice.

“I went to court in Dumbarton and the judge went to me ‘You know you have been done twice here’, and I went ‘No, actually I don’t’.

“He said ‘He’s done you going into the village and he’s followed you and he’s done you again going out of the village’, so instead of doing me once he’s done me twice.

He fumed: “Scandalous, I was raging.

“Completely out of order and I lost any respect for him.”

Celtic supporting co-host Alan Brazil then asked if the judge who dealt with the case was a Rangers season ticket holder.

McCoist replied: “Well I’ll tell you what, the cop wasn’t!

“He must have been in your mob.

“I got found guilty on both of them, which was correct because I was guilty on both of them.”

McCoist, pled guilty to driving at excessive speed twice on January 6, 2023.

He was fined £200 for the Tarbet offence and £310 for the Arrochar incident with his license also issued with four penalty points.
