The former Newcastle United and Burnley player Joey Barton is again in the news for the wrong reasons. Bristol Rovers manager Joey Barton attacked his wife and left a lump “the size of a golf ball” on her head after drinking “four to five bottles of wine”, a court heard on Friday.

This is just an awful report to hear from the former Manchester City and Rangers player. He ‘kicked wife in head’ and ‘grabbed her by throat’ in drunken row the court heard. Disgusting and vile!
