According to The Sun, those pulling the strings at Premier League football clubs are anticipating a crackdown on unvaccinated players.
Prime Minister Boris Johnson yesterday announced that the country would be moving to ‘Plan B’, with so-called COVID passports being needed to gain entrance to stadiums and other large venues.
While there is the option to provide a negative COVID-19 test result as an alternative to your vaccination records, it looks like a ploy to increase uptake of the jab through inconveniencing the unjabbed.
The United Kingdom is currently in a precarious state, with it being unclear whether further restrictions and rules will follow and exactly what that could look like.

As per The Sun, that has left Premier League club bosses concerned that either the government or footballing authorities could be set to crack down on unvaccinated players.
The report notes fears that the Omicron variant could force the government into implementing a stricter vaccine mandate, which could rule some players out of the action.
It is important to note that there is currently no concrete suggestion that the government have any plans to go down this path, but you can understand why PL club chiefs fear they will.
