Brighton academy manager John Morling has been sacked over an alleged COVID breach, according to the Daily Mail.
Morling, who was being linked with a move to Newcastle, as is stated in the report by the Daily Mail, is understood to have had a complaint made against him by a close family member of a player within his squad.
It’s claimed that the player received a positive COVID-19 test while on the team bus en route to a fixture. The details are scarce, but the understanding is that COVID regs were not followed by the letter of the law.

As a consequence, Morling has been given his marching orders by Brighton, and you have to think the negative press will put Newcastle off making a move to appoint him any time soon.
We will stop short of complete condemnation because it’s not entirely clear what Morling’s wrongdoing was specifically, but it doesn’t sound good for him, does it?
