Greater Manchester Police have confirmed that an arrest has been made as a consequence of ‘online social media images and videos’ which did the rounds on Sunday.
This comes just a matter of hours after Greater Manchester Police confirmed that they were looking into allegations made by Mason Greenwood’s girlfriend on Instagram, which included photo, video and audio evidence of alleged abuse.
Manchester United have today suspended Greenwood, releasing a statement confirming that he would take no part in training or games until further notice. His football career is hanging in the balance as the investigations continue.

Greater Manchester Police have now confirmed that a ‘man in his 20s’ has been arrested in connection with the ‘online social media images and videos’ which were shared far and wide as the football community united in outrage.
The man who has been arrested has not been named – but Piers Morgan and the Daily Mail have confirmed that it’s Greenwood – which in fairness, didn’t take a genius to decipher.
