Our Lord and Saviour’s Birthday.

Happy Birthday ‘Lord’ Nicklas Bendtner.  Our hero turns 29 today: with a career of both historic ups and downs, no-one can take his fame away from him.

The now Nottingham Forest F.C man who had a nine year spell with Arsenal is one of the internet’s most well known footballers, but is it for the wrong reasons?

Famous for his self assurance and comedic quotes, what isn’t there to love about a man that comes out with this:

“I want to be top scorer in the Premier League, top scorer at the World Cup and, within five years, I want to be among the best strikers in the world. Trust me, it will happen.”.

Full of reassurance in his own capabilities, he told reporters this in 2009 shortly after being crowned ‘Danish Player of the Year’.

For a short time before his quote, it seemed he might live up to some notions Arsenal supporters had, as he set the record for the fastest goal scored by a substitute on 22 December, 2007.

Also famous for his comparisons with the likes of Lionel Messi and even Pele.

Since 2007, ‘Lord’ has hit some rocky bumps in his career from facing a 100,000 pound fine from Arsenal for drunken misbehaviour in a taxi in Copenhagen, to constant mockery on social media.

His face has become an international sensation in the meme world, yet no-one understands just how it took off quite so well. Seeing as it is his birthday, how about we just sit back and enjoy his internet fame.

Bendtner had a loan spell with Juventus in the 2012/2013 season and is lucky enough to have won a Serie A title while not scoring any goals and playing less than 10 games.

Bringing right place, right time to a whole different level.
