Over 250,000 people have signed a petition for France vs Switzerland to be replayed, report ESPN.

The world champions were prematurely knocked out of Euro 2020 after being defeated by the Swiss on penalties.

A dramatic 3-3 draw during normal time, and a tenative, uneventful 30 minutes of extra-time, led the two sides into the dreaded shootout, which was won by Swiss goalkeeper Yann Sommer, who denied superstar Kylian Mbappe.

While VAR will have reviewed the penalty to ensure that Sommer’s backfoot was on the line before confirming the victory for Switzerland, over a quarter of a million fans are NOT convinced.

As reported by ESPN, a petition for the game to be replayed has soared past 250k signatures, with those who’ve signed intent to prove that Sommer’s foot was not on the line.
