Pep Guardiola refers to fellow Premier League manager when talking about experience in football

Pep Guardiola says he must be as old as Roy Hodgson in order to understand what “experience” is in football.

City face Leicester this weekend, knowing a loss is a big step back to catching Arsenal in the title race with ten games to go and Guardiola admitted in his pre-match press conference yesterday that he will only understand what experience is when he reaches Roy Hodgson’s age.

Everybody knows that if we lose, it’s over. That is the best way to compete.

Because in every action, be it transitions or set pieces, the players know they have to win in that part of the game or we will lose.

I still have doubts about experience…I think have to be Roy Hodgson’s age of 74, 75 years old  to understand exactly what experience is in football.”
