The former Munster and Irish lock was on Sam Warburton’s ‘CAPTAINS’ podcast this week and revealed a funny story that involved Roy Keane, Ronan O’Gara & the All Blacks.
When Roy Keane was doing his FIFA badges, instead of joining Ireland’s rugby team as part of his FIFA coaching badge exams, Keane opted to spend a week with the New Zealand rugby squad.
When recalling the story the Ireland forwards coach said;
“I’ve met him personally a few times.
“It’s funny, you know when he was doing his FIFA badges Ireland were playing New Zealand, and they had to visit another team.
“Rather than visiting the Irish rugby team he went and stayed a week with the New Zealand rugby team.
“We went out for dinner with him, myself and a few of the lads.
“But I remember he told Ronan O’Gara: ‘Listen, I can’t tell you anything they’ve been saying in camp – but I can tell you one thing- they’ll be coming after you.”
