🚨 Paul McGinley labelled a ‘disgrace’ with what he said after Rory Wins The Masters ..

Posted by

What a night that was for Irish golf and after Rory McIlroy was crowed The Masters Champion, the cameras rolled back into the studio and the former Ryder Cup captain Paul McGinley gave a few words about Rory McIlroy his fellow Irishman.

MORE HERE: 🚨Rory McIlroy broke down in tears when asked about his parents who were watching back home 💚😢

People weren’t happy with McGinley had to say ..

Replaced him with Nick towards the end. Thankfully. Give Rory the respect he deserves

He also said nobody has come close to a grand slam in the last 20 years. Mickelson has won 3 of the slams and was 2nd 6 times in the other one. Six times isn’t close though.

It’s true though. He’s detested by many, the Brit haters, the Liv golf diehards and many more. But he has answered them with his ability. Harrington winning the British Open and Lowry winning it were for me every bit as great.

Thought it was refreshingly honest – was happy for mcilroy bur doesn’t even make my top 20 Irosj sporting moments because eh….it’s not an Irish sporting moment

He’s not. I’m delighted for him, but he’s not universally popular in the same way as a Harrington or a Lowry might be. Could be a Nordie thing or he’s made a few PR missteps over the years too. Maybe not the line to lead with afterwards though.

  1. well done Rory who cares what a number of dimwits who have never accomplished much in their lives choose this moment to whinge and whine like McGinley uncalled for bring it up later

        1. It’s okay in my words to be envious of Rory Mcllroy. But McGinley is such a jealous piece of s#$t. He’s obviously someone that can’t look at himself in the mirror cause all he would see is his own shortcomings. He’s just a jealous prick that can’t stand anyone’s success. Well done Rory and don’t mind what comes out of that has been’s mouth. Some people are born a Langer and they just grow around it

        1. Please read it was bad grammar but he said or ment congratulations Rory from an English man he never said he was English, he’s Northern Irish 👍😀🍻👏

      1. He not English he’s not even from the North of Ireland which by the way is Donegal, he’s from Holywood in Co.Down which is in Northern Ireland (we wouldn’t have an international football team if we weren’t a country fact)

        1. Your not a country your an artificial statelet , people from this statelet play for Ireland at most sports Rugby , Boxing , hockey and golf

        2. What you on about you clown, 😡 of course he’s from The North of Ireland, which is 2/3rds of the province of Ulster (9 counties) co Donegal and co down included.

      2. Wake up and smell the roses. Buy an atlas and make informed comments.
Justin Rose is English and is a class act.
        Rory McIkroy is not English.

    1. Rory, a comme réputation d avoir mauvais carartere..il n a jamais été tres sociable sur les cours de golfe. Ca le reconduit. Oui il a gagné, il devrait faire des progres de ce coté.

  2. I thought as I was listening that he was talking about someone else, even all the Americans wanted him to win…there is no one more popular!!!! FFS? Talk about taking the shine off a fellow Irishman, shame on you
    Mcginlay

        1. Don’t waste your time with unionists they don’t understand passports it confuses them and they detest there passports informs them they are Irish hence the passport cover says United Kingdom of Great Britain and the north of Ireland

  3. Luck of the Irish 🍀⛳️☘️. Who cares what everyone says, u did it ! Well deserved! You’re a True Champion in my book. Congratulations Rory! Awesomeness 👏👏👏

      1. No person born in Ireland is British only people from Scotland, England and Wales qualify as British check your facts first before showing your mindset.

        1. People from NI are actually British by nationality as NI is part of the United Kingdom not part of the Republic of Ireland

          1. Nonsense they are not British never have been British hence why there passport cover says the United Kingdom of Great Britain and the north of Ireland , Britain is a term purely for Scotland , England and Wales , this has always been the situation

          2. The Island of Ireland is geographically part of the British Isles. The Island of Great Britain contains Scotland England and Wales.

      2. Rory McIlroy has represented the Republic of Ireland at both the 2020 Tokyo Olympics (held in 2021 after being delayed due to the Covid-19 Pandemic) and the 2024 Paris Olympics. So he’s got an Irish passport as well, same as me and thousands of others living in The North Of Ireland… Wise up if your born in the North, South, East, or West of Ireland then your IRISH.. simples

        1. Well in Ireland we call the Irish and British isles Ireland geographically by position be classed in your mindset as part of the British isle but nobody in Ireland is British to British you have to come from Scotland, England or Wales , unfortunately there is some Irish people who have passports of the United Kingdom affording them British passport rights but they are essentially Irish wither they like it or not as UK passport says United Kingdom of Great Britain and the north of Ireland .

  4. Thoroughly agree with McGinley. McIlroy is not everybody’s cup of tea. Not a good sportsman. He throws a hissy fit and sulks when he loses.

    1. That’s the sign of a great sportsman, you don’t play to lose, and being upset when losing shows how much he wants to win.

  5. Opinions are like arses, everyone has one and that’s his and he’s entitled to it same as anyone else.
I’d say he’s speaking solely for the golfing fraternity as his comments wouldn’t be representative of the majority of people on this island.
The majority of people will be delighted for his momentous achievement.

  6. Sky should finish with him , Rory a great Irish golfer and his family suffered but we won’t go down that rabbit hole ! McGinley obviously very jealous and miffed.

      1. He was born in the province of Ulster on the island of Ireland, it not his fault that part of Ulster is in UK control.

    1. It’s mainly Irish commentators but I’ve heard some English commentators come out with it especially at the rugby

  7. Time for McGinley to retire from commentating on golf. His time to retire and go back to Galway and breed sheep has come.

  8. I have good time for Paul McGinley but I disagree with him on this.. Rory represented Ireland at amateur level ..just leave the politics out of our great game of golf , thank you.. great viewing..

  9. Its so great and let’s nor get personable here this is about the boy whom left eure and brought home da bacon go Rory go!!!!

  10. I like Paul McGinley but that was not the right time or place to say anything negative about Rory’s achievement. Stick to the positive aspect of the situation, at least for one day.

  11. Well do Rory doing the business for sport in Northern Ireland. Time to take a hard look at playing golf for the south in the Olympics if that’s the way McGinley is thinking then what’s the rest not thinking. If you had been born in the south they would of been all over you like a rash.

  12. Sack Paul McKinley disgraceful comment about
Rory carnt stand the sound of his voice who needs commentators like him sure they can
Do better he certainly isn’t my cup of tea

  13. Some of those posting here seem not to have noticed that McIlroy chose to represent Ireland at the Olympics in Tokyo and Paris as he had as a junior.

  14. Bad day for Paul McGinlay. His statements were a disgrace and I think because of jealousy. To win the Masters is more difficult for anyone outside of USA same as a foreign player winning our open. Paul should now be relieved of any future commentating as we do not want to hear his idiotic thoughts.

  15. Let’s start by that opening statement. It’s true, there are many who aren’t Rory fans, mainly over the water, repercussions after the Ryder Cup outburst. But thats passion and to be honest, all spoilt needs that. So That’s what the comment waters about, nothing personal. I thought it was very obvious what P M was saying.
Also, he has at times infuriated fans. How can someone with so much talent at times throw away winning chances. He plays a shot that is neigh impossible and when it fails he’s perplexed. Shot into Ray’s Creek is a prime example. There was no need, Nick Faldo was stunned. But in the past it felt like arrogance that he could do it. This time, he was calmer, more mature and refocused. That was the difference

  16. Jealousy is a fault from which we all suffer to some extent . mcGinley’s remarks belong in the jealousy hall of fame

  17. Faldo full of praise, he’s played and won Masters. McGinley’s not everyone’s cup of tea and should keep his personal opinions to himself not broadcast them to the world.

  18. Can’t stand Mcginley, have to switch the sound off when he’s commenting, talks a lot of times gone by, as well as a load of s##t, loves the sound of his own voice

  19. Paul McGinley is a great golf analyst , and a Ryder cup winning captain , and what he said about Rory and the divide in irish support for him is true there is never an irish flag next to his name which is disappointing but not an English flag either and I think what ever flag he goes under he will offend someone im a huge Rory fan living in the us watched him for years come so close he is the greatest golfer of this generation and up there in ranking of all time what his parents did for him having his childhood friend on the bag
and he seems to be a great human being with good values lets celebrate this great achievement in golf and this fantastic ambassador from the island where we all were born
