“It will happen” – Conor McGregor in talks to fight YOUTUBER in mega-money boxing match

Jake Paul has confirmed that his team are in talks with Conor McGregor over the possibility of arranging a boxing match between the pair.

Ever since Paul took the plunge into professional boxing, McGregor is one man who he has made absolutely no secret of his desire to fight.

The YouTuber previously threw around some quite extraordinary figures, claiming they were the guaranteed purse for the Irishman, were he to take the fight.

McGregor evidently felt as though it was all talk, having ignored Paul’s attempts to get him to step through the ropes and partake in his second professional boxing match.

Still, even with McGregor out injured, the possibility of him and Paul meeting in the ring continues to be a topic of conversation, or so claims the ‘Problem Child.’

Paul, speaking to Graham Bensinger, said: “If Dana would ever let Conor out of his contract to set up the boxing match, I think that’s what is needed to make it happen.”

“And I think that will, I think it will happen and if Conor is going to just continue to lose fights.”

Could Conor McGregor’s struggles in the UFC land him back in the boxing ring?

“He’s 1-4 in the past five years – then there’s not much Dana will be able to do with him anyway. So cash him out one more time.”

“But his manager is good friends with my manager and another one of my advisors and they talk constantly about making it happen.”

“They’re like, ‘Yeah we’re down, we’re about it’.”

The prospect of Paul vs McGregor, not only in the ring but also in front of the press, is absolutely mouth-watering.

McGregor would arguably be the underdog considering Paul’s size and more extensive boxing training, which is quite incredible to think – because he’s ‘only a YouTuber.’

Once he fully recovers from his leg break and makes his return to the UFC, we may well see McGregor taking on Jake Paul in the boxing ring at some point in 2022 or 2023. That puts a wide smile on our faces.
