Oscar Piastri sent X-rated Austrian GP radio message that couldn’t be shown on TV

Oscar Piastri finished second behind McLaren teammate Lando Norris in the Austrian GP.

The 24-year-old is currently leading the 2025 Driver’s Standings after 11 races, having taken 216 points, which includes five wins and nine podium finishes.

Norris, who took 25 points in Austria, is breathing down Piastri’s neck. He is only 15 points behind his teammate. McLaren are flying at the moment after picking up one-two, and they are leading the Constructors’ championship.

Piastri lost his cool for a moment and made an X-rated outburst that was not shown on TV.

He aimed a dig at Alpine, his former employer. Piastri was a reserve driver with Alpine. He left the team in 2022 after a contract dispute and then joined McLaren.

Piastri was unhappy with how Alpine pair Franco Colapinto and Pierre Gasly forced him onto the grass.

Colapinto was given a five-second penalty for running Piastri off the track on lap 55, and then on lap 57 he was blocked by teammate Gasly heading into Turn 1, which stopped him from catching Norris.

Piastri said: “Alpine still manages to find a way to f*** me over all these years later.”

The radio message to his team was not aired on the broadcast, but the expletive could be heard on his onboard.
